ChatGPT Business and Enterprise Rollout for Your Team
OpenAI consulting for teams moving from personal ChatGPT accounts to a managed ChatGPT Business or Enterprise workspace: plan choice, SSO, admin settings, connectors and custom GPTs, a usage policy and role-based training. OpenAI bills the seats directly.
What the ChatGPT Rollout Covers
Six workstreams take ChatGPT for business use from personal accounts to a company workspace your staff use daily.
Plan and Seat Choice
We review who uses ChatGPT and for what, then match each person to a Standard or Premium Business seat, or scope an Enterprise quote.
Workspace and Identity
Domain verification, SAML SSO and MFA on Business, plus SCIM on Enterprise, so ChatGPT access follows your identity provider.
Connectors and Custom GPTs
Connectors to the systems each team works from, plus custom GPTs and shared projects for repeat tasks.
Usage Policy
A ChatGPT usage policy built from your client contracts and data rules, with each clause matched to an admin setting.
Training and Adoption
Role-based ChatGPT training on real workflows, with adoption tracked in the workspace analytics dashboard.
Handover
An admin runbook, onboarding and offboarding steps and a configuration register for your IT lead, with our access removed.

Choosing ChatGPT Business or ChatGPT Enterprise
ChatGPT Business comes with Standard and Premium seats that you can mix in one workspace, at the prices above from OpenAI's pricing page. It includes SAML SSO, MFA, domain verification, an admin console with admin roles, analytics, shared projects, apps that connect to internal tools and SOC 2 Type 2. OpenAI prices ChatGPT Enterprise through its sales team. We compare your security questionnaire, client contracts and headcount against both plans before you sign.
Controls ChatGPT Enterprise adds to Business.
Choose Enterprise when your identity team, auditors or clients ask for these. OpenAI also lists enhanced support and dedicated onboarding.
Moving Staff From Personal ChatGPT Plus Accounts Into the Company Workspace
Teams often start on personal Free or Plus accounts. The rollout brings that work into a workspace the company manages.
OpenAI's Data Controls settings show that Free and Plus chats can be used to train its models until each user switches that option off. In a Business or Enterprise workspace, OpenAI keeps business data out of training by default.
- Find current use. A staff survey and your expense records show who uses ChatGPT for work, on which plan and for what.
- Invite staff. We verify your email domain and invite each person with their company address, grouped by team.
- Agree the cut-over. The usage policy states which account holds company work and what staff do with work in personal accounts.
- Close expensed subscriptions. Once a person is active in the workspace, the company cancels any Plus subscription it paid for.
Identity Setup: SAML SSO, SCIM, Domain Verification and Roles
ChatGPT access follows the accounts your IT team already manages, so joiners and leavers go through one process.
Verify the Domain
We verify your company domain in the ChatGPT admin console, tying workspace membership to company email.
Connect SAML SSO
We connect ChatGPT to your identity provider over SAML, set MFA through your provider or in ChatGPT, and test sign-in with a pilot group.
Provision Members
On Enterprise, SCIM adds and removes members from your identity provider's groups. On Business, we use bulk member management and document the joiner and leaver steps.
Assign Workspace Roles
Admin roles go to the people who own billing, security and GPT management; everyone else joins as a member. Enterprise adds role-based access controls and group permissions.
Admin Console Settings We Configure
Each setting follows your usage policy and goes into the configuration register.
GPT Sharing and Management
Who can build custom GPTs and share them across the workspace, with GPT analytics on which ones teams use. Enterprise adds granular GPT controls by group.
Usage Analytics
The analytics dashboard shows how staff use ChatGPT across the workspace and where the next round of training should go.
Data Retention
Enterprise supports custom data retention policies, set to match your records policy. On Business, we record how the workspace retains chats.
Apps and Connectors
Which apps and connectors each team can use and who gets developer mode (beta), agreed with you and set in the console. Enterprise adds a connector registry.
Connectors and Custom GPTs Scoped to Each Team
ChatGPT answers better when it can read the files and records a team works from. We connect apps for systems such as SharePoint, Google Drive and HubSpot, then build custom GPTs and shared projects for repeat work: a proposal drafter for sales, a handbook assistant for HR, a month-end checklist for finance. We test every connection with a restricted user account before staff see it.
Each team reaches the data its work needs.
Where you want tool access logged and scoped on your own infrastructure, we can deploy a self-hosted MCP gateway between ChatGPT and your internal systems, so every connector call passes through servers you control.
A ChatGPT Usage Policy and Role-Based Training
Admin settings decide what ChatGPT can reach. The policy and the training decide how people use it.
Usage policy
We write the policy from your client contracts and the data your staff handle: approved accounts, data that stays out of prompts, when a person reviews output, who approves a new connector or GPT, and how to report a problem. Each clause maps to an admin console setting.
Training by role
ChatGPT Business training runs inside your workspace. Sales, finance, HR, operations and leadership each work through real tasks with their team's projects, custom GPTs and connectors, and learn to check an answer before it reaches a client. Admins get a console session. OpenAI's small business program, announced July 21, 2026, adds product webinars and guides alongside our sessions.
Handover to Your Team
Your IT lead runs the workspace after the rollout, with every setting written down.
Admin Runbook
How to add and remove members, manage seats, approve a new GPT or connector, and read analytics.
Onboarding and Offboarding SOP
The joiner and leaver steps for ChatGPT, tied to your identity provider and your HR checklist.
Configuration Register
Every admin console setting, the reason for it and the policy clause it supports, so audits and renewals start from a record.
Removal of Our Access
We hand admin rights to your named owners and remove our accounts from the workspace once you sign off the handover.
What Shapes the Engagement
Every ChatGPT consulting engagement is quoted against its scope after a strategy session. These factors set the scope.
Seat count and plan
How many people need ChatGPT, which seat types, and whether Business or Enterprise fits.
Identity provider
SAML SSO on Business, SCIM on Enterprise, and how your groups are organized today.
Connectors
How many systems ChatGPT connects to, how sensitive each is, and which need write access. Systems that need tighter control can sit behind a self-hosted MCP gateway.
Data sensitivity
Regulated or client-confidential data that calls for tighter rules or a private assistant.
Client contract terms
AI clauses in client agreements that the policy and settings have to honour.
Training audience
How many teams and roles need their own sessions.
If your company also uses another assistant, we roll out Claude Team and Enterprise the same way, and our AI enablement service brings ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot and Gemini under one identity setup and one policy.
When a Private ChatGPT Fits Better
Some data belongs on your own servers: regulated records, client files under strict contract terms, or work that has to run offline. For that data we build a private ChatGPT-style assistant on self-hosted models that runs beside ChatGPT Business.
Frequently Asked Questions on ChatGPT Business and Enterprise Rollouts
OpenAI bills the seats directly to your company, and the workspace sits on your company's account. NeuralChainAI charges for the rollout work: plan choice, identity setup, admin settings, connectors, the usage policy, training and handover.
Seats and rollout work are billed separately. OpenAI lists ChatGPT Business at $20 per user per month for a Standard seat and $100 for a Premium seat, billed annually, and prices Enterprise through its sales team. We quote the rollout against your scope after a strategy session. For market reference, justinmckelvey.com lists AI implementation at $4,500–$7,500, and Greenway prices half-day corporate AI training at $3,000–$8,000.
OpenAI's enterprise privacy page states: "We do not train on your business data, and our models don't learn from your usage." Its pricing table marks training on content as No for Business and Enterprise. On personal Free and Plus accounts, chats can be used for training unless each user turns that off in OpenAI's Data Controls settings.
Enterprise fits when you need SCIM, Enterprise Key Management, role-based access controls, the Compliance API, custom data retention or data residency, which OpenAI supports in ten regions. Business includes SAML SSO, MFA, domain verification and an admin console. We compare your security questionnaire and client contracts against both plans during scoping.
