ITAR Compliance Software Built on Private AI for Aerospace Suppliers
ITAR compliance software built on private AI runs inside your own boundary and serves two groups: the engineers and sales staff who work with controlled data, and the compliance team that governs it. Engineers use private language models on drawings, specs and technical data packages while the data stays on infrastructure you control. Compliance gets AI assistants that draft classification rationale, check export-control markings and review access requests, and every query is logged.
Private AI on Controlled Technical Data
Six capabilities that let engineering, quality and sales teams at aerospace suppliers use AI on controlled data, with the controls your export compliance officer expects.
Engineering assistant
Engineers ask questions across drawings, specs and technical data packages and get answers that cite the document and revision.
Learn more →RFQ and proposal drafting
Draft RFQ responses and proposal sections from controlled specs and past quotes, for your team to review and send.
ITAR markings carried through
Every indexed chunk keeps the export-control marking of its source document, and every answer shows the markings of the sources it used.
Access through your directory groups
Retrieval checks the user's directory groups before it reads a document, so controlled data reaches only the people your compliance team has authorized.
Per-query audit log
Each query is logged with the user, the documents retrieved and the output, ready to export for a compliance review.
Offline model serving
Open-weight models run on vLLM or Ollama on your hardware, including fully offline, with updates brought in through your approved import process.
Learn more →Three Deployment Options Inside Your Boundary
Aerospace suppliers pick the deployment that matches how their controlled data is handled today. Each option keeps ITAR controlled technical data, the search index and the logs on infrastructure you control.
Your authorized staff load the controlled data
NeuralChainAI designs and configures the system. Your authorized staff load and manage the controlled technical data, so the build runs on your access rules from the first day.
How We Deploy It
Six steps, planned with your export compliance lead from the first meeting.
Data classification review
With your export compliance lead, we list the document collections in scope and record the control status and authorized groups for each.
Deploy inside the boundary
Models, index, interface and logs install on your on-premise, air-gapped or private-tenant infrastructure, under your change control.
Index with markings
Your staff load the documents. Each chunk keeps its source marking, revision and collection, so answers carry them forward.
Map access groups
Each collection is tied to the directory groups your compliance team approved, and we test access with real accounts before go-live.
Configure compliance assistants
We set up the compliance assistants on your Technology Control Plan, marking procedure and access roster, and your compliance officer reviews sample outputs before staff use them.
Audit reporting
Query logs, the access matrix and the data-flow diagram are handed to your compliance team in the formats they review.
AI Assistants for ITAR Compliance Work
The same private AI stack runs assistants for your export compliance team. Each assistant drafts, checks or searches, and your compliance officer makes every decision.
Classification drafts
Reads a part's drawings and specs, compares them with USML categories and the Commerce Control List, and drafts a rationale with citations for your export compliance officer to decide.
Marking checks before release
Checks documents against your marking procedure before they leave engineering and flags any with a missing or inconsistent export-control marking for your team to correct.
Access-request review
Compares each new access request with your roster of authorized U.S. persons and the collection's control status, and routes anything outside policy to compliance before access is granted.
Compliance plan and license Q&A
Answers staff questions from your Technology Control Plan, procedures and license provisos, citing the section it used.
Learn more →Records and audit search
Pulls export records, access history and query logs for an internal audit, from the records you keep under 22 CFR 122.5.
Regulation change summaries
Summarizes ITAR and USML amendments published in the Federal Register and lists the internal collections each change may touch, for your compliance lead to assess.
What Your Compliance Team Gets
Three artifacts for your export compliance program:
The system works alongside your export compliance officer, who keeps the final say on classification and access. This page describes how the software is built and is not legal advice.

The ITAR has no certification for software. It asks companies to register with the State Department's Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, keep records and obtain licenses or other approvals for exports, and 22 CFR 122.1(c) states that registration confers no export rights or privileges. Software supports your compliance program through controls such as access groups and audit logs, and your export compliance officer decides how it fits.
Your export compliance officer makes the decision, and the assistant prepares it. It reads the drawings and specs, compares them with USML categories and the Commerce Control List, and writes up the categories it considered with citations. Where jurisdiction is unclear, the established route is a commodity jurisdiction request to DDTC, and the assistant's write-up gives your team a head start on it.
Yes. In an air-gapped deployment the models, the search index, the chat interface and the logs all run on an isolated network with no internet path. It uses open-weight models whose weights you can download and host, such as the Llama, Qwen and Mistral families, served with vLLM or Ollama on your own GPUs. We benchmark candidates on your own documents and questions, and updates arrive through your approved import process and change control.
Each document keeps its export-control marking through ingestion. The marking is stored on every chunk cut from that document, and every answer lists the markings of the sources it drew on, so a reader sees the control status before copying any text. Collections can also be split by marking, with access granted per collection.
The system is designed so NeuralChainAI staff do not need access to your controlled technical data. We configure the stack, and your authorized staff load and manage the documents. When our engineers help with troubleshooting, they work from system logs and test data your team provides, under the access rules your export compliance officer sets.
The deployment model, the volume of documents, the number of users and which compliance assistants you add. An on-premise or air-gapped GPU server is a hardware purchase, while a private cloud tenant is a monthly compute cost. Document volume sets the indexing and markings work, user count sets the serving capacity, and each assistant adds configuration and review against your procedures. A strategy session produces a scoped estimate for your environment.
